Next Generation Risperdal

The drug that made my day yesterday was Invega @1.5 mg. Paliperidone, the generic name for Invega, is the major active metabolite of risperidone. I have got to get GB off Zyprexa.

    Is Invega the name of the children's dose of Risperidal (sp)?

    No, it is a second generation of Risperdal. Much less chance of weight gain or prolactin problems.

    I am so happy GB is off Zyprexa. It is just to heavy of a medicine. Hope the Invega is what she needs.
